The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said. City, Friday, March 6, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: . Mr. Hodgin, and Mr. Hawroth. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous • meeting were dispensed with. CIO On motion duly made by Mr. Hodgin, seconded by Mr. Haworth and unani- • mously carried the Board adopted the following Resolution and requested • that it be spread of record of this meeting: RESOLUTION . WHEREAS, GOD in his infinite wisdom has seen fit to call unto him- self into his Kingdom of Heaven, this 3rd day of March, 1953, a loyal and faithful public official, Andrew Herlits, Judge of the Richmond City Court, and WHEREAS, His presence will be greatly missed: IIBE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, That his passing be recorded and noted in the permanent records of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and that commenda- tion and regard be paid to his faithful and co-operative spirit and his willingness to go out of his way to be faithful to his duties and help- fulness to those around him and to any and all others. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this Resolution be spread of record in the records of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and that a copy be sent to his bereaved family. On request of the Modern Development, Inc. , the Board directed the City Engineer to advise the said Modern Development, Inc. by letter that the City would assume the maintenance of the streets in the Travers Addition after they had been constructed by paving and accepted by the City. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Rich- mond on the 9th and 16th days of February, 1953, that sealed proposals would be received on this date for furnishing the Street Department with One (1) Wrecker equipped as per specification requested. The proofs were ordered filed. One bid was received, opened and read aloud as follows: Hubbard Mfg. Co. , Inc. , Farmland, Indiana.One (1) Wrecker equipped with 1-5 ton winch, reversible power take-off, universal joints, drive shaft complete with controls at the rear of cab, 1 stationary light weight crance and stiff leg, 1 spacing bar and spring hitch, 1001 3/8" cable 6x37 very flexible, 1-6" snatch block, with all necessary framing and fastenings for mounting on Chevrolet Pick-up Truck to be used by the Street Department of said City of Richmond, Indiana, with no trade-in allowance $748. 42. The Street Commissioner reported that he had this amount in the budget.. On recommendation of the Street Commissioner, Mr. Hodgin moved that the above bid be accepted, seconded by M . Haworth and on voice vote was unanimously carried. The Board authorized the Clerk to contact thb Light Plant and request that a survey and investigation be made to see what is necessary to have more adequate street lighting at the intersection of West 5th and National Road. Claims in the amount of $4.4,4.07. 63 were allowed. There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned. • Chairman Attest: City Cle
