HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-27-1953 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS • AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 1953. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, 11 met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, February 27, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit: • On motion duly made., seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. On recommendation of Chief of Police, Lucas Rohe, the Board approve the advancement of Ralph Robinson from a probationary patrolman to the rank of a regular patrolman as of March 1, 1953, Mr. Robinson having served the required one year probationary period. By request of Captain Juerling the Board approved the removal of one • parking meter from the east side of North 8th Street near North "A" Street, and one meter on the west side of South 8th Street near South "A" Street. This will aid in having more room for traffic to use the double lanes at said intersections. The Board extended "No Parking" on the north side of the Williamsburg Pike from the Crosley Plant to U. S. #35. The Board approved the installation of a "Stop" sign at the intersection of North 2nd. and "A" Streets, making North "A" the Stop Street. The Board approved the Light Plant of proceeding to order the necesary materials needed to install an over-hanging type of traffic light at the intersection of South 5th and "E" Streets. This installation to be the same type as the installation at South 5th and "G" Streets. Claims in the amount of "1, 018. 81 were allowed. There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned. Chairman Attest: City Cl rk .
