HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-13-1953 301 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 1953. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, February 13, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. ""? The Board approved' the Clerk of writing Mr. F. C. Cunningham, Division Engineer of the C and 0 Railroad Company, and T.J. Poggiani of the `JO Pierce and Gruber, Engineers advising them that a meeting was being tentatively set for February 27th, 1953, to discuss the ;2, 319. 68 that the C and 0 Railroad Company claims the City owes for payment for labor and material in connection with the North "D" Street grade separation. Mr. Burlison, Street Commissioner advised the board that more room' is definitely needed for storage of equipment belonging to the Street Department. I.t was unanimously agreed by the board that, the entire Market House would be used for the storage of City equipment. On recommendation of the Chief of Police, the board unanimously approved II the appointment of William E. 'Brown as probationary patrolman as of February 18, 1953. On recommendation of the Fire Chief and Mr. Ben Deuker, Asst. City Engineer, the .board approved the placing of a Post Indicator valve control between the sidewalk and curb as requested by the Crabtree- Maule Corporation for their building sprinkler system. The board approved the request of the local Red Cross Chapter of placing collars around the street light poles in the business district as requested by Lester G. Spencer Chairman of the Campaign Fund. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $14, 930. 86.
