HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-30-1953 299 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA FRIDAY, JANUARY 30, 1953 II The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, January 30, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had; to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. N Mrs. Harvey Ramse, owner of property at 18 Richmond Avenue and Mr. ='`) Byram Robbins, her attorney, appeared before the Board and reported ' that they would comply with the request of the Building Inspector to have plans and specifications prepared by a licensed engineer for the ,�..! remodeling of the mentioned home on Richmond Avenue before a permit is obtained from the Building Inspector. Mr. Hodgin reported that he met with the off-street parking committee composed of Mr. Anderson, Mr. Tracy, himself along with the Mayor and • discussed the Fleming lot on North 10th Street. It was reported that no definite action was taken to mae recommendations at this time. On recommendation of Capt. Juerling the Board approved the authorization of the Street Department of installing "no parking" signs on the north IIside of the Williamsburg Pike from N.W. "N" Street to the Crosley Plant Entrance. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Ricmond Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, that a public hearing would be held on this date for the assessment rolls as provided for in Improvement Resolution Nos. 958-1952, 959-1952 and 955-1952. All taxpayers who appeared that were affected by said assessment rolls were heard. There being no remonstrance filed or received the Board now confirms unanimously assessment rolls as provided in Inprovement Resolution Nos. 958-1952, 959-1952 and 955-1952 as adopted on the 2nd day of January, 1953. On recommendation of the City Engineer the Board approved the property owners to change the location of a culvert between South "N" and South 11.0" Streets. The claims in the amount of $2, 774-. 24 were allowed.
