AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS TO
THE CITY OF IONA, IDAHO; DESCRIBING THESE
LANDS; REQUIRING THE FILING OF THE
ORDINANCE AND AMMENDED CITY MAP AND
AMENDED LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF THE CITY
WITH THE APPROPRIATE COUNTY AND STATE
AUTHORITIES; AND ESTABLISHING EFFECTIVE
DATE.

WHEREAS, the land described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto is contiguous and
adjacent to the City of Iona and is subject to annexation to the City of Iona pursuant to
the provisions of Section 50-222, Idaho Code, as amended; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the Mayor and City Council that this land should be
annexed to and become a part of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IONA, IDAHO, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. This land described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto is hereby
annexed to the City of Iona.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall file a certified copy of this Ordinance with the
Bonneville County Auditor, Treasurer and Assessor within ten (10) days after the
effective date hereof. The City Engineer shall, within ten (10) days after such effective
date, file an amended legal description and map of the City, with the Bonneville County
Recorder and Assessor and the Idaho State Tax Commission, all in accordance with
Idaho Code, Section 63-2215.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, execution and
publication in the manner provided by law.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IONA, on the 20th day
of August, 1998, and signed by the Mayor on the 20th day of August, 1998.

FOR
ANNEXATION OF TORNGREN AND STEr'N'LER PROPERTY
Beginning at a point that is South 1243.64 feet along the Section line from the Northwest
Corner of Section 7, Township 2 North, Range 39 E.B.M., Bonneville County, Idaho (said point of
beginning also being 208.71 feet North of the North line of Free Avenue, as shown on the "Official
Plat of the Village of Iona and Denning Addition to the Village of Iona") and running thence East
208.71 feet; thence South 477.42 feet; thence West 238.71 feet to the West line of Iona North Road;
thence North 235.71 feet along the West line of the Iona North Road(5 5th East) to the South line of
the Denning addition; thence West 36 feet to the East line of Block 8 extended of the Denning
addition(the Present City Limits); thence East 66.00 feet to the West line of said Section 7 to the
point of beginning, containing 2.82 acres.

Notice of Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 20th day of August 1998 at the hour of 6PM,
the City Council of the City of Iona will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of
considering the annexation and zoning of approximately 3 acres of real property
belonging to Norma Tomgren and Kevin Steffler which is generally located at 2828
North 55th East, Iona, Idaho. The public hearing will be conducted at the Iona City
Building, 3548 North Main, Iona, Idaho.
