II The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session Friday, December 12, 1952, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (cst) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Hodgin. Mr. Frank Chambers sitting in the place of Mr. Haworth who was absent. The following business was had, to-wit: The minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with on motion duly made, seconded and carried. The Board unanimously approve:dthe following contract: Cn C.., The Ad-O-Lite Neon. Service Richmond, Indiana, herebyagrees �.�.., g r� to service and maintain the indentification neon display (Walk- Don' t Walk) of the City of Richmond, Indiana for a period of 12 months. Service and maintenance including: Repair all broken tubing, replace faulty transformers, replace bad housings, re- place faulty Hi Ten wire, replace faulty primary wire not to exceed 8 feet from box, painting filler section, clean sign face (wash) , blackout tubing, repaint of sign face, and inspection of and necessary replacements of hanging equipment. It is hereby agreed that with the signing of this contract by both parties, The Ad-O-Lite Neon Service shall be responsible for the operation of the above mentioned display except for such . conditions as City Power failure, destruction of sign by strike or riot. For the above services listed, I am to pay to the Ad-O-Lite Neon Service $38.00 per month, payable on or before the 25th day of each month for the duration of this contract, with provision that Ad-0Lite be granted a 3-day period for which to make any minor repair ( i. e. tube repair and transformers) and any period exceeding 3 days discounted from the next due payment by mutual consent of all parties concerned. The request of the Pantorium Cleaners, 821 South E Street for a limited parking space in front of said address was referred to Capt. Juerling to investigate. The Clerk presented proofs of publication, printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of November 17 and 24, 1952, that sealed Proposals would be received on this date until the hour of 10:00 o ' clock A.M. ( cst) , for furnishing a safe for the Department of Health. The proofs were ordered filed. The following bids were opened and read aloud: IIRosa' s Inc. 1-- #545 A Label Safe (4Hr. ) $792.00 1- #445 B Label Safe (2Hr. ) 677.00 290 Bartel and Rohe, Inc. 1- Merring-Hall-Marvin Safe $879.00 Woolley' s 1- Model 4050 Safe $982. 40 The Hall' s Safe Company bid was not considered as the prescribed forms were not used. The above bids were referred to the City Health Officer and City Controller to tabulate and recommend. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palla- dium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, India la on the dates of November 17 and 24, 1952, that sealed proposals would be received on this date until the hour of 10:00 o' clock A.M. (cst) for furnishing labor and material to construct the Bealview Sanitary Sewer. The proofs were ordered filed. The following bids were opened and read aloud: • DeBolt Concrete Co. $131,816.24 Square and Marra Const. Co. 130,580.50 Columbia Const. Co. 151,072. 00 Mike DeLuclo and Son 141, 919. 00 The above bids were referred to the City Engineer to tabulate and re- commend. The claims in the amount of 4 30, 625.12 were ,allowed.
