IIThe Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session Friday, December 5 , 1952, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. ( cst) . Mr. H. G. Coleman presiding With the following member being present Mr. Hodgin. Mr. Frank Chambers sitting in the place of Mr. Haworth who was absent. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Mr. C.H. Milstead, 532 North 19th Street and Mr. Roy Sharp, 531 North 19th Street, appeared before the Board and protested any alteration on the '-' North 19th Street bridge that has been outlined by the City Engineer. `"J Captain Juerling' s following recommendations were approved by the Board: Make South "B" Street one-way to west-bound traffic from South 5th to South 16th Streets with the following provisions be made for parking of cars: Both sides of said "B" Street, from South 5th to South 7th Streets; No parking on eith side of South "B" Street, from South 7th to 8th Streets; Parking be permitted from South 8th Street to South 10th Street as is permitted now; No parking on north side of South 10th Street at Park Place; No parking from the east side of the park as its intersection with South "B" Street for a minimum of at least 25 feet north and south from the middle of the intersection; No parking on the south side of "B" Street from South 10th to 12th Streets; Parking to be allowed on both sides of South "B" Street, from South 12th to 16th Streets.. The one-way traffic to II be in effect after the proper signs are erected. The Board also approved the curb on the northeast side of South 7th and "B" Streets be cut back for easier movement of traffic. The Clerk presented proofs of publication, printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana on the dates of November 10th and 17th, 1952, that sealed pro- posals would be received for furnishing 33 or more parking meters for the Market House Parking Lot on this date at 9:30 A.M. (cst) . The proofs were ordered filed. The following bids were received and read aloud: Martin Red Ball Parking Meters, Benton, Illinois. Magee-Hale Park-O-Meter Co. , Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Dual Parking Meter Co. , Canton, Ohio Duncan Parking Meter Co. '. Chicago, Illinois The Dzn.canbid failed to show a certified check as was requested and was not considered. All bids were taken under advisement by the board. The Clerk presented proofs of publication, printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana on the 3rd and 10th day of November, T952, that a public hearing IIwould be held on this date at the hour of 10:00 o' clock A.M. (cst) , for the following assessment rolls that were previously adopted by this Board the 31st day of October, 1952: Improvement Resolution Noe 943-1952 (Marymount Sewer) , Improvement Resolution No. 948-1952 (Concrete sidewalk and curbs on S.W. 14th Street) , Improvement Resolution No. 949-1952 88 (Concrete alley, between Richmond Avenue and Randolph Street, from N.W. 3rd to N.W. 4th Street) , Improvement Resolution No. 951-1952 (Concrete alley, between Richmond Avenue and Randolph Street, from N.W. 4th to N.W. 5th Street) . All persons who were interested or effected present were heard on the above Assessment Rolls. On motion duly made, seconded and carried the Assessment Rolls on each Improvement Resolution above was confirmed with- out modification. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palladium- Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, that a public hearing would be held on Improvement Resolution No. 963- . 1952, for construction of a Sanitary Sewer on Liberty Avenue, between South "L" and "I" Streets, on this date at the hour of 10: 00 o' clock A.M. (cst) . The proofs were ordered filed. All persons who were interested or effected that were present were heard. The Board confirmed Improvement Resolution No. 963-1952 as adopted on October 31, 1952. The Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to furnish the labor and material necessary to construct this Sanitary Sewer, which will be received Friday, January 2, 1953. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $2417.28. There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned. v0% 0 ' Chairman Attest: City C rk
