HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-21-1952 284 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 1952• The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Fri- day, November 21, 1.952 at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Cole- man presiding with the following member present Mr.. Hodgin. Mr. Chambers sitting in for Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The Board approved the Clerk of preparing the proper advertising to re- ceive bids for furnishing the Fire Department one (1) line truck and one (1) automobile for the Dairy Inspector. A resolution to be prepared to appoint appraiser to appraise a truck used by the Fire Department and an automobile used by the Dairy Inspector. On recommendation of Capt. Juerling the Board approved the following: Paint the curb yellow on the east side of Ft Wayne Avenue approximately 186 feet south of the intersection of North 8th and "E" Street, remove 5 parking meters and paint a traffic line for north-bound traffic. Paint the curb yellow on the east side of North 19th Street approximately 100 feet north of the intersection .of North 10th and "E" Streets and paint a traffic line for the south bound traffic. Paint the curb approximately 50 feet west of North 19th Street west on the north side of North "E" Street. Paint the curb yellow on both sides of northwest Second Street from Richmond Avenue to the first alley north. Re- move the remaining parking of cars on the north side of North ,"E" Street east from North 8th and "E"' Streets to the Penna. P.R. This last order to be in effect only temporary until the over-pass project has been completed. TO: BOARD OF WORKS Estimate on Traffic Lights on North and South A Streets North A Street will have a 3" fibre duct line from North 6th and A to North 12th and A. , with duct runs at each street intersections including 7th to llth Streets; also new bases from 7th to 9th Street. South A street requires street intersections from 6th to 8th and duct run from 12th to 13th with duct across 13th street intersection. 1. Labor on duct and bases 45, 642.00 " wiring and hook 2, 220.00 Materials required such as fibre duct, cement, signals and relay pannels - 6, 739. 70 10% on material only 673_ 9� 15,275 7 Above estimate is with flashing amber for fire runs and using same ex- isting type of relay Pannell which are old and troublesome and can not be used in a progressive system such as main street now. 2'85 2. The Board approved that Section 2 of said estimate be accepted and that the Clerk notify the Light Plant of this action. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $23, 938. 91.
