FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 1952 IIThe Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, ' met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, November 7, 1952, at the hour of 9:00 o° clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman pre siding with Mr. .Hodgin being present. Mr. Chambers present. in the absence of Mr. Haworth. . The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, -seconded and carried the minutes of the previous meet- ing were dispensed with. . The Board authorized the Clerk to prepare the proper advertising to receive bids for furnishing 33 or more five hour parking meters for the Marker House Parking Lot. CZT_; Mr. Burelison, Street Commissioner, advised the Board that he was starting a H two weeks vacation period starting Monday November 10, 1952. The Board instructed the Clerk to write a letter of thanks to the State High- way Commission for the splendid services rendered during the recent Fall Festival. Mr. Ross , Disposal Plant Supt. , advised the board that a member of the State Board of Health had been in the City and gone over the method of placing sludge on the city dumps to retard the dump fires and approved the said method. IThe Board issued orders that no more dumping would be allowed on the Clear • Creek dump: . On recommendation of Capt. Juerling the board approved the installation of one hour parking signs on the east side of North 13th Street to extend 100 . feet .north of North "F" Street. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Palladium-Item a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, that '.sealed proposals would be received for costs of-.labor and material necessary as provided for in Improvement Resolutions No. 961-1952 and No. 962-1952. - -The proofs were received and ordered filed. • The following bids were received: Henry Rodenberg purposes to furnish all material and labor necessary to complete the concrete construction of curb, gutters and sidewalk on .both sides of Gardner Street, extending from Harris Street to the alley along Pennsylvania Railroad right of way according to plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer for the sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred and Thirty-two Dollars and Fifty Cents ( 3,532.50) . The City Engineers estimate being Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty- eight Dollars ($3, 768. 00) . On motion duly made, seconded and carried the Board awarded the contract to Henry Rodenberg as submitted. Henry Rodenber purposes to furnish all material and labor necessary to complete the concrete construction of curb, gutter and sidewalk on both sides of Reller Street extending from Harris Street to alley along Pennsylvania Railroad right-of-way according to the plans and specification prepared by the City Engineer, for the sum of Three Thousand One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($3, 150. 00) . The City Engineers estimate being Three Thousand Three Hundred and Sixty Dollars ( 3, 360.00) . On motion duly made, seconded and carried the Board awarded the contract to Henry Rodenberg as submitted. The Board allowed the claims in the sum of d 6102.50.
