AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 1952.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday,
October 24, 1952, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (cst) . Mr. Coleman
presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Hodgin. Mr.
Chambers present in the absence of Mr. Haworth. Tfie following business
was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
A petition signed by residents of the area of South 13th and "A* Street
requesting a traffic light of some type at said intersection was received
and referred to Mr. Hodgin and Capt. Juerling to investigate and re-
commend.
Fire Chief Williams again brought to the dattention of the board the immed-
iate need of regulating the traffic lights for fire runs. Mr. Hodgin
reported that this was still being studied by the Light Plant as well as
the traffic light for North 10th and llth Street on North "A" Street.
On recommendation of Mr. Hodgin the board approved the Swayne Robinson
Company of permitting cars to be parked at right angles on South 2nd
Street from Main to North "A" Street on east side of said street subject
to supervision of Mr. Hodgin in marking the proper yellow lines needed,
Mr. Beck gave the following report as requested:

Gentlemen:
In reply to your letter of October 20, 1952 regarding use
of property at 49 N.W. "J" Street and 81 N.W. "J" Street, I have
investigated said property and these are my findings:
At 49 N.W. "J" Street, Mr. Samuel Lichtman is operating an
auto repair shop in the garage at the rear of said lot. The
owner of this lot is Harold Young.
At 81 N.W. "J" Street Mr. William Lane is building tele-
vision antennas in a garage at the rear of said lot. This
part is willing to move if given time to relocate. The owner
of said Lot is Mrs. Bertha French.
The above properties are located in a "Dwelling House District"

The Clerk was instructed to advise the City Attorney of the action that
has been taken and requested what further steps should be followed by
this board.
The Board voted a hearty thanks to those responsible for the Fall Festival
activities that has been a hugh success..
The claims in the amount of $2), 872096.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried the meeting adjourned.
