OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17, 1952.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday,
October 17, 1952, at the hour of 9: 00 A.M. o' clock ( cst) . Mr. Coleman
presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Hodgin. Mr. Chambers
present in the absence of Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to- wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the minutes of the previous meeting
were dispensed with.
Mr. Earl Adams who resides on the corner of Northwest "N" and Ratliff Street
complained of excessive parking of Belden employees care near his home which
blocks him from parking near his home during the day. This was referred to
Capt. Juerling to investigate and recommend what is needed to permit Mr.

Adams to park near his home.
Mr. Roy Wilson, 1010 Sheridan Street, presented a petition signed by several
resident requesting the removal of a garage and television manufacturing
concern, located in the alley south of N.W. J Street. It is deemed that
these concerns are creating a nuisance and that this area is restricted to
residential district. The Board referred this petition to the Building
Inspector for investigation and his findings be reported to this Board.
On recommendation of Capt. Juerling the Board unanimously approved to pro-
hibit parking on the west side of South 18th Street from South "A" to "B"
Streets.
The Clerk presented proof of publication printed ' in the Palladium-Item,
a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, that a public
hearing would be held on Improvement Resolution No. 961-1952 on this date.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the proofs were ordered filed.
No remonstrance was filed or received and all persons present interested
were heard. The Board decides that the benefits accruing to the property
liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost
of the same as estimated by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes
final action on- said resolution as orginally adopted and confirms the same.

On motion duly made, seconded and carried the proofs were ordered filed.

received for labor and material required for Improvement Resolution No.
959-1952. On motion duly made, seconded and carried the proofs were ordere
filed. The following bids were received, opened and read aloud.

DeBolt Concrete 5, 228. 00
City Engineers estimate 5, 228.00

On recommendation of the City Engineer, the Board approved the acceptance
of the bid of Henry Rodenberg,
The Board allowed the claims in the amount of 83885. 77.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
