SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 25, 1952.
The Board of. Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, April 25, 1952, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. (e. s. t. ) . Mr.
H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr.
S.W. Hodgin and Mr. C.M. Haworth. The following business was had, to-
wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
A letter from Mrs. Gertrude Ball, 515 South C Street complaining of
the St. Andrew school children of damaging property due to said South
"C" Street being blocked off during recess hours, was referred to the
Police Department to investigate.
The Board approved the construction of a sewer on Southwest 19th Street
in the Western Hills and Dales Addition.
The Board allowed the following curb cuts: 225 South 3rd Street, 320
North A Street, 211 North l4th Street, 310 North 8th Street and 22
North llth Street.
The Board approved Fire Chief Williams and Assistant. Fire Chief R.
Wadman to attend an Arson School at Purdue University next week.
Capt. Juerling brought to the attention of the board the need of making .
North 19th Street, from Main to North DE" Street one -way. The Board
requested Capt. Juerling to make further study as to which way traffic
should move on said street and also what other streets would be in-
volved in this action.
The City Controller handed out the 1953 Estimated Budget Forms to each
Department Head with a request that these be filled out and be returned
by June 3, 1952.
A petition was received to vacate the lot between Lot No. 62 in Sarah
Sander' s Addition, from North 8th Street west to , Official Map Tract
No. 96. This petition was referred to the City Engineer to prepare a
Declaratory Resolution.
The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $30, 893.40.
There being no further business presented on motion made, seconded and
carried the 'meeting adjourned.
