The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana llmet in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City Fri- day, April 11, 1952, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and. Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made seconded and- carried the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Fire Chief Williams recommended that a transfer of 2,000.00 be trans- ferred from Account #145, Fire Department, Hydrant Main Rentals, to an account to purhcase a new car for the Fire Chief. The Board approved that an ordinance be prepared for presentation to the Common Council for their consideration. J Street Commissioner, Burlison recommended that the sum of 30,000,00 be transferred from Street Department Funds not otherwise appropriated ' °- to. Account #26, Special Street, Street and Alley. The Board approved that an ordinance be prepared for presentation to Common Council for their approval. On recommendation of Capt. Juerling the Board approved the placing of "No Parking" signs on the north side. of North D Street from North 8th Street to the first alley east thereof. On recommendation of Capt. Juerling, the board_ approved granting one IIcar space in front of Tags Taxi Company on North 7th Street. One park- ing meter to be removed. On recommendation of Capt. Juerling; the board approved placing the stop signs at the intersection. of Sheridan Street and Bridge Avenue to make Sheridan Street the through street. The Clerk presented the resolution passed by the Common Council on April 7th requesting the re-installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of North 5th and D Street. The Board took no action on said resolution. Councilman Salzarulo appeared before the board and reported that damage was being done to the curbs throughout the City 'by heavy trucks back- ing over the curbs. Mr. Salzarulo was advised that arrest would be made by the Police if anyone is caught backing over the curbs without . using blocks as prescribed in the Ordinance. A petition for a concrete alley between Richmond •Avenue and Randolph Street, from Northwest 4th Street to Northwest 5th Street, was presented and referred to the City Engineer to make plans, profiles specifications and estimates to do said work and return with a resolution to be pre- sented to this Board. The Board received a letter from the City Clerk, asking permission to move the present City Clerk office into the Board of Works room and relinquish the City Clerk room to the Board of Works. This was referred to the City Engineer for his study and recommendations. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of 833, 756.54. There being no further business presented, on motion duly made , seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting therefore adjourned. Chairman Attest: City Cle °'�
