A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE USE OF LYNWOOD CITY PARK FOR A 2014 JUNETEENTH CONCERT
FESTIVAL AND AUTHORIZING STAFF SUPPORT OF THE EVENT
WHEREAS, a request was made by the Lynwood Senior Bingo Club, the
Lynwood Chamber 'of Commerce and program partner "Awwritenow "' Entertainment to
organize a family- oriented concert at Lynwood City Park; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the event is a community celebration of Juneteenth;
and
WHEREAS, the event proposer groups are requesting City staff support and the
use of designated areas of Lynwood City Park for the June 14, 2014 from 7:00 a.m. to
7:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council approves the use of designated areas of Lynwood
City Park and equipment and authorizes the requested City staff support with an
approximate value of $1,220.
Section 2. The City Council further finds that the proposed event serves the
important public purpose of promoting community unity and hereby approves the
request and authorizes staff to work with the proposer groups to ensure that they
execute the event as- proposed.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 15th day of April, 2014.
