A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING A PAYMENT TO RIVERA SPORTS NOT. TO EXCEED $24,000 FOR
YOUTH BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL UNIFORMS AND A PAYMENT TO
GATEWAY FUND RAISING SERVICE, INC. AN AMOUNT OF $15,020 FOR CANDY
FUNDRAISING SETS
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Youth Baseball and Softball program is an integral part
of traditional city programming for community youth; and
WHEREAS, the cost of player uniforms is built into individual player registration
fees; and
WHEREAS, to help address the program's expenses, various fundraising events
are operated by program volunteers, including the main candy sale fundraiser.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council approves a payment to Rivera Sports in an
amount not to exceed $24,000 to provide youth uniforms and a payment to Gateway
Fund Raising Service, Inc. in an amount of $15,020 for its share of the youth league's
candy sale fundraiser.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes staff to open relative purchase
orders using revenue account #1011.60.33195 and . pay these vendors through the
City's pre -pay process.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 15th day of April, 2014.
