The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday November 9th, 1951, at the' hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. (cst) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion made seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Pp Wynn Mr. Louis and Mr. William York appeared before this board request- ing 4J ing the installation of a traffic light at the intersection of North 10th and "G" Streets, These two men were advised that the board now nz, -had this installation under advisement. The bDarc approved the request of the American Legion of placing bells on various corners of the business district during the Crusade for Freedom program. Mr. Robert Law and others from the Maxwell Addition appeared before this board requesting immediate action on the remonstrance filed against Mr. Eugene Battista. . After a thorough discussion by all present, Mr. Haworth said that immediate action would be taken on filing an injunction against Mr. Battista and that he would have to have all the evidence that showed that Mr. Battista was tarring on a commercial business in this Maxwell Addition area. The injunction suit will be filed when fully prepared. The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 8-1951, to vacate the first alley south of East Main Street, from South 16th Street to first alley east thereof. The Board adopted the following Resolution: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The State Highway Commissioj of Indiana is planning to con- struct a grade separation .structure at the Pennsylvania Railroad on 9th Street and 10th Street (State Road #27) in the City of Richmond, Indiana, and WHEREAS, Said Highway Commission has heretofore submitted to this Board a complete set of plans for said structure together with a request for the approval of said plans and the consent of this Board to carry out said grade separation project. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. Said Board does hereby approve the general plans for said Grade Separation project which plans are entitled " Bridge Plans for Spans over 20 Feet on State Road No. 27-Section CC, F.A. Project No. U.G. 402 (1) " 'and were approved and adopted by the State Highway Commission of Indiana on September 25, 1951. 1 2. Said Board does hereby give its consent on behalf - of the City of Richmond, Indiana, to the-construction of a grade separation structure at the location aforesaid in accordnace with said plans as herein approved by this Board; BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY RICHMOND, INDIANA. - /s/ H.G. The City Attorney asked that the City Engineer get the full amount of monies needed by the City to pay its share for the Bealview Sewer and then the proceedings for the bond issue would be started. The advertising for bids to construct this sewer will processed- at the same time.
