The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, India.na,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City
Friday, September 28, 1951, at the hour of 8:00. o' clock am. (cst) .
Mr. Coleman presiding with the following member being present: Mr.
Hodgin. Mr. Haworth being absent. The following business was had, to-wit:

On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
Mr. Stricle Patterson, apperaed before the Board in behalf of the
;2 ; Colored Shrine of the State of Indiana., requesting permission to
stage a parade on Main Street, Saturday October 20th, 1951 at the
< t hour of 4:00 o' clock p.m. The Board granted permission and that
the Police Department should be notified of the exact time the parade
would start.
On recommendation of the Chief of Police the board approved the
apppintmmnt of R. Porter to the Police Depart as probationary patrol-
man as of October 16, 1951.
The Board received the Declaratory Resolution from the City Engineer
for the Bealview "Sanitary Sewer". The Board took said resolution
II under advisement intil the City Attorney is present to check over
it.
Mr. Hodgin reported that the State Highway would have to make some
repairs on the gutters along Main Street during the repaving pro-
gram and that the City is obligated to repair the sidewalks if some
damage is done.
The Clerk presented a publisher' s affidavit showing that on September
10th and 17th, 1951, a notice had been published in the Pallidium-
Item, .a Bailey newspaper of general circulation printed and published
in the English language in the City of Richmond, Indiana, containing
a copy of said Declaratory Resolution No. 5-1951, vacating a portion
of South "F" Street located in the Richard K. Lackey' s sub-division
of parts of Tracts Nose 551 and 552 of the Official Map of the City
of Richmond, Indiana, and extending from South 22nd Street to the
west boundary of said sub-dividion, and in such notice the date of
September 28, 1951, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock a.m. (cst) , was
the date and time fixed when said board would receive and hear
remonstrances from persons interested in or affected by such pro-
ceedings.
The Board now taking up said resolution for further action, finds
that no remonstrances have been received and no persons apperaing
IIto remonstrate against said vacation proceedings. And the Board
further finds that Fred H. Travers and Grave K. Travers, owner of
all real estate abutting property of said vacation was present by
Richard Kleinecht their Attorney, and consented to said vacation.
The Board further finds that no owners or holders of property, or
other persons, will be injuriously affected, and that the only
property owner along the line of said proposed vacatinn to ben-

ificially affected will be the said Mr. Fred H. Travers and Mrs.
Grace K. Travers.
The Board now confirms Declaratory Resolution No. 5-1951 as
orginally adopted without modification.
$E •TT RESOLVED, that the Cost of publication of said notice of
hearing shall be paid by the petitioners Fred H. Travers and Garce
Travers.
The Bpard allowed the claims in the sum of 49785.63.

There being no further business presented, on motion made seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
