WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY,
AUGUST 3, 1951.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, India.na, .
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, August 3, 1951, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. (est) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr.
Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was bad, to-wit:
On motion made, seconded and carried, the minutes of - the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
COThe Board ordered the Police Dept. to see that all trucks were moved
from the area of South "B" Street, between South 6th and 7th Streets.
Several complaints has been received of this practise of trucks park-
ing all night.
The Board authorized the Clerk to contact the State Highway Commission
and ask that the speed zone of 30 M.P.H. be extended from theHenley. -

been received that the - traffic is moving too fast in this area to
permit safety to moving traffic and pedestrians.
The Street Dept. was authorized to purchase enough OnegWay signs to
erect on North "B" Street, from North 7th Street to North 16th Street
to make "B" Street a one-way street to eastbound traffic, and South
"B" Street, from South 7th to South 16th, to make "B1 Street one-way
street for westbound traffic. These said streets shall not be made
one-way until all signs are installed.
The Board approved a request to cut the ciirb at 4.00 S. 20th St. f or
a private drive-way..
Mr. Robert C. Law' s letter concerning the application of of some
kind of a treatment to keep the dust down in the alley in the rear
of Mrs. Harry Crosley, 136 S.W. 9th Street, was referred to the City
Engineer for investigation.
A letter from the Richmond Lions Club approving the Fluoridation of
Richmond Water supply was received and ordered filed.
A letter from the Indiana R.R. Co. requesting that the parking of
cars along the east side of Hunt Street, from N.W. "M" to "N" Streets
be prohibited from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. was referred to the Police
Dept. for investigation and report back to this Board.
The Board ordered the Street Comm. to give any assistance to the
Commons Lumber Company to help maintain the roadway along the said
Commons Lumber Co. which is being used to get onto the Whitewater
Blvd, from Sheridan Street.
The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $5, 920.31.
There being no futher business presented, on motion made, seconded •
and carried, he mee djourned.
