OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, JULY 27, 1951.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Ind-
iana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said
City, Friday, July 27, 1951, at the hour of 8:00 o' clock (cst) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr.
Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
The Street Commissioner was aithorized by the Board to prepare the
advertising f o$ a car load of Calcium Chloride.
On motion made by Haworth, seconded by Hodgin and unanimously car-
ried, the Board voted that the Fluoridation of the Richmond water
supply met with the approval of this Board.
The Board approved the request to cut the curb at 201 Cartwright
Drive for a private drive-way.
A letter from the Ralston Purina Company, requesting the naming
of a semi-circle near said Company was referred to the City Plan
Commission for their study and recommendation.
The Board ordered a estop sign" at the intersection of S.W. 10th
and "A" Streets. •
The Clerk presented a publisher' s affidavit showing that on July
12 and 19, 1951, a notice had been published in the Richmond Pal-
lidium-Item, a dailey newspaper of general circulation, printed in
the English language in the City of Richmond, Indiana, containing
a "Notice to Contractors", for the furnishing of labor and material
to make repairs at No. 4 Hose House, located at South 9th and "E"
Streets, as per specifications on file in the office of the Fire
Chief, and such notice, the date of July 27, 1951, was fixed as
the time when said Board would receive and open sealed proposals
to do. said work. The proofs were ordered filed No -bids were re-
.ceived. The Board ordered the Fire Chief to get estimates to do
said work from interested contractos and submitt the same to this
Board.
The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $ �3 7a 77q _
There being no further business presented, on motion made, second-
ed and carried, the meeting adjourned.
