The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Izidiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall Friday, June 1, 1951, at the hour of 8:00 & clock AM. (CST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr.. Ross and Mr. Haworth. The following busines was had, to-wit: . • The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Miss Opal Smith and her Attorney, Mr. Z.J. Stanley appeared before the an board to discuss why the property at 200 North 5th Street had not cozn plied with the Zoning Ordinance. This property was condemned as being `_ unsafe for familes living in said property under the existing 'circum7, stances. Miss Smith has agreed to remove the family that is now living . in the cellar and also erect and outside' stairway immediately. �Y" Mr. George Scantland and Mr. George Bortner appeared before the board with plans for a new development area for housing from South 18th Street to South 20th Street, between South E and H Streets..' There :i's a drainage problem that should be considered before this area is developed for housing. The board referred thsi to the City Engineer to study . .and recommend as to what size tile and the estimated costs. A Petition for. a-_'!San Lary Sewer" between South 12th and 13th Streets, from South`H tb.... Vae siwas referred to the City Engineer for study. II The board approved the following curb cuts: 615 South 16th Street and 619 South 16th Street for. private driveways.
