The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, - Indiana,'.
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City
Friday, May 25th, 1951, at the hour of 8:00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being presents Mr. Ross
and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit:

Claude Bozarth, Sari tary Inspector, reported that he had made an in-
vestigation of the complaint of an outside toilet at 1113 Hunt Street
• and-found that the owner has made arrangements to receive bids to

in_stalla an inside toilet. It woul.d be approx. 3 to 4 weeks before
this:-.is done. -

On recommendation of the Fire Chief, the Board unanimously :approved
the installation of approx. 500' of 6" water main an Hilldale Ave.
and N.W. 17th Street and one fire hydrant for protection of fire in
said area.
The Board approved the Police Department of notifying Mrs. Opal
Smith, 200 North ,e5th Street, to appear before this Board Friday
June 1st, 1951 todiscuss the violation of the Zoning Ordinance
that is existing on properties that said Mrs. Smith owns on N. 5th
Street.
A petition for a street light in the alley in the rear of Sevastopol
School for the protection and safety of the children was referred to
the Light Plant Committee for their study and recommendations.
A petition for the grading and cindering of an alley located north of
Northwest "D" Street, from N.W. 9th Street to N.W. llth Street. was
referred to the Board aa a whole for their study and recommendations.
A. petition for the grading and -cindering an alley located in the
Sutton Addition, between S.W. 16th and 17th Streets was taken under
advisement.
• City Engineer, Mr. Ross, reported that DeBolt had promised to get
back on the Maxwell Sanitary 'Sewer Project the week of May 28th.
The Ravinia Storm Sewer Project is being held-up due to the City
being unable to get Delucio, the low bidder, on the job. The plans
for the One-Way streets are being held-up fhntil a traffic signal
is installed at the intersection of East Third and Main Streets.
The Clerk was authorized to write the State Highway Commission in
regards to the disposition of the request for a traffic control
at the intersection of...National Road and West 2nd Street.
The Board recommended the installation of a Mercury Vapor Type
Street Light at the intersection of West let and Main Streets. The
Light Plant Committee is' to be notified of this request.
The request of the "red button" type reflectors for the light poles
on South 22nd Street was referred to the Street Conmissione for his
recommendations.

The request of sidewalks being constructed across the Penna.
R.R. tracks at Northwest 5th Street was taken under advise—
ment.
The Clerk reported that Mr. Trimble, owner of property on
Ft. Wayne Avenue was advised to remove this building as the
work to be done on the North UDo Street Grade Separation was
about to the point of this building.
The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $ g,70.. 11?
There.°being no further business presented, on motion duly made
seconded and carried the meeting adjourned.
