HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-11-1951 1)2 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, MAY 11, 1951. • The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, May 11, 1951, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock a.m. (CST). Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Ross and Mr. Haworth. The follow- ing business was had, to-wit: The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Board granted Earlham College permission to place two lights on city owned property near their new entrance off National Road. Mr. Ross moved and Mr. Haworth seconded that as of this date all work done by contractors in building streets, sidewalks, curbs and gutters in new sub-divisions will be required to furnish a Maintenance Bond for a period of not less than five (5) years. This motion was unanimously carried on voice vote. Mr. Ross reported that the cost of an overhead traffic light at North 12th and AG" Streets would be approximately $305.00. It was recommended that work be held up on this light until after the new traffic signals are installed on Main Street. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $22,266.98.
