CITY,OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 23, 1951.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall
in said City Friday, February 23, 1951, at the hour of _9: 00
o' clock A;M: Mr:. .Colemari pi'esiding with the following member
being present: Mr. Ross. Mr. Haworth being absent. The .follow-
ing business was had, to-wit: _
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Haworth was reported to be improving after his recent oper-
ation. Mr. Meadows and Mr. Rohe were over to Indianapolis Thursday
to see him.
On complaint of Claude Bozarth, Sanitary Inspector, . the Clerk was
ordered to inform Joe Mercurio to clean, or cause to be cleaned up
the trash, garbage and old potatoes from around the building at
111 South 5th Street, not later than March 2, 1951, or .futher action
will be taken by the Board. Some wiring that is defective was also
asked to be taken care of,
The Park Board notified the Board that there would be lights in-
stalled on the soft-ball diamonds south of Main Street,
Three bids were received for the Police Ambulance which was apprais-
ed for 4$75. 00 by the Appraisers appointed by the Judge of the
Wayne Circuit Court in Declaratory Res. #4-1951. Bids as follows:
Jesiop Auto Parts; 90. 00. National Auto Wreckers; S75.00 and
James Willis; $$100.00. The Board approved the bid of James Willis,
The Board met at the hour of 10:00 o' clock A.M. to hear and consider
all remonstrances filed on Declaratory Resolution #3-1951, for the
vacation of alleys and a street as requested by the Fire Proof Door
Company of Richmond, Indiana. No remons rances were filed or pre-
sented. The Board unanimously confirmed Declaratory Resolution #3-
1951. The henifits in the sum of the charges for advertising and
recording fees were to be paid by the Fire Proof Door Company.
The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $2,453. 93,
There being no further business presented, the meeting adjourned.
