II OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
SAFETY, RIUHMOND,INDIANA, JAN. 5, 1951,
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, January 5, 1951, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. Mr. Cole-
man presiding with he following members being present: Mr. W.E. Ross
and Mr. C.M. Haworth. The following proceedings were had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the minutes of the previous
ti
meeting were dispensed with.
Cr".) Mr. Stephen Hornak, Jr. appeared before the Board with complaints of
(-- cars parking in front of his grocery on North 13th and E Streets for
long periods of time and preventing his customers from having a place
n' to park. This was referred to the Police Dept. for investigation and
recommendations.
The Board approved the request of the Police Dept. of the purchase - of
two cruisers for said Dept. The Clerk was ordered to prepare .a Res-
olution to Council for appraisers to be appointed to appraise two .
cars that are-going to be traded.
On recommendation of the Chief of Police the Board approved the pur-
l! chase and installation of "Flasher" light to be installed on South
9th Street near the Hibberd School area.
,. The Board approved Asst. Fite Chief, Roy Hardy of going to Middleboro
Mass. to supervise some changes in the design of the new fire pumper
that is being manufactured.
The request of the Light Plant td install ducts at the intersection
of South 7th and "A" Streets was granted.
Dr. H.Dee Wintrowl s compinik' of cars parking in front of his garage
on Park Street was referred to the Police Dept. to investigate and
recommend what could be done to prohibit this practise.
The Board allowed the claims in the amount of 20, 281.37.

The Board granted permission to the C.& 0. R.R. Co. an extension
of Thirty days to complete work on No. D Street Grade Separation as
requested in letter of December 27, 1950.

and carried the meeting adjourned.
