OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
SAFETY, RICHMMOND, INDIANA, DECEMBER 15, 1950.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Ind-
iana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall, Friday
December 15, 1950, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. Mr. Coleman pre-
siding with the following members being present: Mr. Ross and Mr.
Haworth. The following proceedings were had, to-wit:
On motion made, seconded and carried the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
CQ The Board accepted the resignation of Edward Cordell, Patrolman
on the Police Department as of December 11, 1950.
On recommendation of the Chief of Police, the Board approved the
appointment of Robert Matheny as probationary patrolman effective
as of December 16, 1950.
The condition of a man-hole cover in front of the Sinz Barber Shop
on North Ninth Street as reported by Ralph Kissel was referred to
the Street Commissioner to investigate.
The Board met at the hour of 10: 00 o' clock A.M. to receive and open
bids for the rental of the Market House on South 6th Street for the
year 1951. The proofs of publication were presented and ordered
filed. The following bid was reeived:
John W. Behnen, R.R. #2, Box #50, Richmond, Indiana
60,00 per month for year 1951.
Mr. Haworth moved that the bid as submitted by Mr. Behnen be
accepted, seconded by Mr. Ross and on voice vote was carried.
Mr. Behnen proposal to buy 2 old stoves, 1 step ladder, 1 coal box
and all old tables for the sum of $75.00 was accepted by the
Board.
No action was taken at this time on the preparation of a Resolution
providing for one-way streets in the city.
The Board approved the claims in the amount of 05, 044.06
There being no fur .her business Presented, on motion made seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
