OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY,
SEPTEMBER 29, 1950.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall,
Friday, September29, at the hour of 9: 00 a.m. (c. s. t. ) . Mr. Harold
G. Coleman presiding with the following member being present: Mr.
W. E. Ross. The following proceedings were had, to-wit:
On motion made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
The Board approved the request of the Indiana Motor Truck Assn. of
placing a Driver' s Laboratory mounted on a trailer on the streets
of Richmond, October llth and 12th.
The Board approved the Chief of Police attending the National Police
Chiefs' Convention to be held in the City of Denver Colorado, October
8th to 12th.
Mr. Havens of the Belden.,.Mfg. Company appeared before the Board with
complaints of the cars that are parking along the north fence line
of the Belden along the Williamsburg Pike of tearing up said fence.
The Board took this complaint under advisement.
The Board approved the Street Department of purchasing a paint spray
machine for use by the said Department.
The Board adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 7-1950, to vacate that
part of South 6th Street extending from the South line of South "N"
Street to the North line of South "0" Street, in the City of Richmond,
County of Wayne, and State of Indiana, which street proposed to be
vacated is more particularly described as follows, to-wit: That part
of South Sixth Street bounded on the East by Lots Numbers 419 to 429,
both inclusive, all in Beallview Addition to the City, on the North
by the South line of .South "N" Street and on the South by the North
line of South "0" Street. All as shown by a plat of such proposed
vacation now .on file in the office of the Civil Engineer of said City.
The property which may be injuriously or beneficially affected in
the said City of Richmond by said proposed vacation is known as the
street herein proposed to be vacated and the lots abutting on the East
and West sides thereof, owned by the National Automatic Tool Company
of said City of Richmond, Indiana.
The Clerk was ordered to prepare the publication for a hearing on
said Declaratory Resolution to be held on the 20th day of October, 1950,
at 9: 00 o' clock a.m. (C.S.T. ) .
The Board approved the awarding of the bid to do the work as provided
for in Improvement Resolution No. 937--1950, to Daugherty and Rowe Con-
struction Company. The Clerk was instructed to contact the above-
named firm to have them report to the City Engineer' s Office before
starting said work.
The Clerk was instructed to contact the Gas Company about some dead
trees in front of 618 South "E" Street.

The Board approved to re-advertise for bids to do the work as
provided for in Improvement Resolution No. 934-1950. Said
bids to be received Friday, October 13, 1950, at 9:00 a.m.

The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 940-
1950, to improve the alley between South 13th and 14th Streets,
from South "F" to 11G" Streets by concreting said alley the full
width. Public hearing date is set for Friday, October 20th,
1950, at 9:00 a.m. (c. s. t. ) .
CN/ The Board allowed claims in the amount of S5,071.80. -
There being no further business presented, on motion made,
seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
