The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Ind.---
iana, met in regular session in its office in the office of the
Board in the City Hall in said City, Friday, September 15, 1950,
at 8: 00 o ' clock a .m, (cet) . Mr. H. G. Eoleman presiding with the
following members being present! Ross and Haworth. The following
proceedings were had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and unanimoA 1y carried, the minutes
of the Previous meeting were dispensed_ with.
The Board meets at the hour of 9: n0 o' clock ( cst) i ve a.. m, to receive
and open sealed pr opbsals for the improvement of the alley between
Southwest lothSouthwestllth 'St- .0 t,

n Qu Street, south to the first alley north of and parallel with
National Road West, as provided for in Improvement Resolution
No, 935-1950. The foilowin.g' bid_ was received an opened:

A certified check in the amount of 100. 00 accompanied_ bid.:
This bid not being over the City Engineer' s estimate which was
2, 903. 70, Mr. Ross moved, that the bid. of W. L. Hagaw be accepted.,
seconded by Mr. Haworth and on voice vote the motion was unenim-
oulsy carried.
A bid was received from the Daugherty-Rowe Const. Co. of Lawrence-
burg, Indiana at the hour of 9: 30 a .m. ( cat) . This bid being filed.
afterset time was rejected.
On recommendation of the Street Commissioner, the Board_ approved.
the installation of a new wooden floor in the Wooden Bridge in
f1Ha oy Hollui to replace the 'ire sen t which is worn out.
On recofr;m,endetion of the Chief of Police, the Board. approved the
installation of No Perking only for loading and. unloading purposes
signs on both sides of Neff Street.
Fire Chief, L. Wi ll i am,s, reccormmnnded_ that an 811 water main be
instal_led in the area of North. 19th Street and "JI' Street instead_
of the 6U water main that was Proposed_ August 25, 1950 by this
Board. The Board unanimously approved the recommendation of the II
Fire Chief and instructed the Clerk to notify the 'Water Works ks of
this action.
On recommendation of the Fire Chief the Board unanimously approved
the a 7.'-)intment of Richard. J. Huffman as Probationary firemen as
of September l6, 1950.

P,_r. Haworth moved thet this Board go on record c c recommending
the installation of street lighting in the Clear View Cree k
Addition and the izibberd_ Terrace Additior, seconded_ by 'ir. Ross
and on voice vote the motion was unanimously carried , The Clerk
was instructed to notify the Lit Plant of this action.
The following curb cuts were approved: 200 South 12th Street,
145 S.W. llth Street and 300 N.W. "T" Street.
