HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-08-1950 Adiu OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDiANA, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 1950, The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, September 8, 1950 at the hour of 8:00 a.m. ( c s t) , Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Ross and Haworth. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: On motion duly 'made, seconded and unanimoulsy carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with, On reccomenda.tion of the Fire' Chief, the Board. approved the in- stailation of approx. 3001 of 6" water line and one Hydrant in the new Hibberd Terrace Addition to the City of Richmond, Indiana, The Clerk was authorized to notify the Water Works of this action. The bequest to cut the ciurb at 148 South 21st Street was approved. On recommendation of the Chief of Police, the Board approved the installation of Li way stpp signs at the intersection of Northwest "T," Street and Ridge Street. Tee Street Department was ordered to place the signs. A Petition signed 17 pepple request that part of Alley from South "F" Stret to South "G" Street, between South 13th Street and South 14th Street to be improved with P. C. concrete. This petition was referred to the City Engineer to prepare plans, profiles and specifications. The Board approved the request of the Junior Chamber of Commerce for permission to park the Hoosier Hertiage Caravan trailer on the north side of Main Street, west of 7th and Main. Street, Sat- urday, September 16, 1950. A letter was received from J.R. Harrington, Attorney for the Scant- land Builders, who propose to erect 26 new resid_eness in the Hib- herd Terrace Addition, which will increase the residence valuation to the City approx. 5 l82, 000„ 00, This letter stated that certain requirements are desired by the F.H.A. before loans can be procured it was asked that the city agree to black- top Hibberd Drive six months after the streets have been finished and stabilized , The installation of street lights and proper street signs. This letter was referred to the City Engineer to answer The Board meets for final hearing on improvement Resolution #938- 1950, that was adopted August fib, 1950. No remonstrances were filed or presented and the Board now confirms said. Imp. Res, #938-1950. A remonstrance was filed and 'referred. to City Engineer to check the resident freeholders on both the petition and remonstrance. The following was reported by the City Engineer: 8 Property Owners on Petition and 1 Property Owner on Remonstrance, The majority being in favor of the improve- 2 . • men t, The Board now confirms Improvement Resolution No. 939-1950 as adopted August 4, 1950.
