Ind- inana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, August 4, 1950, at the hour of 8: 00 o' clock a.m. (cst 4. Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. W.E. Ross and Mr. C.M. Haworth. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: On motion made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous � 7 meeting were dispensed with. ,.,, The Board authorized the Fire Chief to attend the Fire Chiefls State Convention at Gary, Indiana, August 9, 10, 11 and 12. ' The Board approved the request to cut the curb in front of Lot #223 Reeveston Road for a private driveway. On motion made by Haworth, seconded by RossEand unanimously carried, the Purina Mills, North 4th & "D" Streets, was given permission to change the present storm sewer of condition that an easement is secured from the Purina Mills and Penna R.R. for purposes of main- tenances of said sewer by said City. II On motion by Haworth, seconded by Ross and unanimously carried, the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company was given extended time to . change the communication lines on the North "Du Street Grade Sep- aration project. Mr. Haworth to notify the Railr.oadrOompany of this action. The Board approved the Street Department of repairing the wall near the intersection of North 6th Street and Washington Street. On motion made by Ross, seconded by Haworth and unanimously carried, the Clerk was authorized to advertise for a Vacuum Applicator for repairing street and traffic signs in the city. The bids to be re- ceived August 18, 1950. Mr. Clarence Brown, Attorney for the Glen Miller Stock Yard, Inc. , appeared before the. Board with a petition for the vacation of a street and an alley. The street requested to be vacated is North 23rd Street in Grand Boulevard Sub-division and the alley to be vacated is the first alley north of Glen Court along the Pennsy- lvania Railroad Company right-of-way, between North 22d and 23rd Streets. On motion made by Ross, seconded by Haworth and carried unanimoulsy, the Board adopted the following Declaratory Resolution #4-1950: DECLARATORY RESOLUTION TO VACATE STREET AND ALLEY DECLARATORY RESOLUTION NO 4-1950. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana: 111.E That it is desired and deemed necessary to vacate that part of North 23rd Street extending north from the first alley north of and parallel to Glen Court in said City to an unimproved Street known as Glen Miller Avenue, extending along the south side of the right-of-way of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, That part of. the Street proposed to be vacated is bounded on the east by Tract #131 on the Official Map .of said. City, and on the west by _ lots numbered 1, 2, 3., 4 and 5 in Grand Boulevard. Sub-division of said City. RESOLVED FURTHER, that it is desired and deemed necessary to vacate the alley extending north and south between North 22d Street and North 23rd Street in said City, and beginning at the north line of the first alley north of and parrallel to Glen Court in said City, and extending thence north to an unimproved Street known as Glen Miller Avenue, extending along the south side of the right-of-way of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. Said alley to be vacated is bounded on the east by lots numbered 1,2, 3, 4 and 5, and on the west by lots numbered 6, 7,8 and 9, all in the Grand Boulevard Sub-division in said City of Richmond, Indiana. That the property which may be injuriously or ben0aficially affected in said City by the proposed vacation is known and de- scribed as such part of North 23rd Street and the alley herein Proposed to be vacated and real estate abutting on the east and west sides of said street and alley, all of which said real es- state is owned by the Glen Miller Stock Yards, Inc. of the City of Richmond, Indiana. ADOPTED this 4th day of August, 1950. The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected by the following described improvement: Improvement Resolution No, 934-1950, for the improvement of the alley between South 13th Street and South 14th Street, from South "E" Street to South "F" Street, by construction of a concrete roadway the full width of said alley. After hearing all persons interested who appeared, and being ful- ly advised in the premises, the Board decides that the benifits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of the same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as orginally adopted, the same being confirmed without modification. The Board meets to hear all persons interested or whos property is affected by the improvement of the alley between Southwest 10th Street and Sothwest llth Street, from Southwest "A" Street, south of and parallel with National Road, as provided for by Improvement Resolution No. 935-1950. A remonstrance was filed and after hearing all interested persons who appeared, the Board now postpones further action on said Resolution until the City Civil Engineer investigates and reports the resident freeholders on both the petition and remonstrance. _1_ 9 On motion made by Ross, seconded by Haworth and unanmoulsy carried, the Board adopted Improvement Resolution No. 938- 1950, for the improvement of Northwest "A" Street, from East- haven Avenue to Alley at West Corporation Limit by construct- ion of concrete sidewalks and curbs on both sides of the street in accordance with profile, details, drawing and specifications submitted by the City Civil Engineer. Hearing date on said Imp. Res. No. 938-1950 to be Friday, August 25, 1950, at the hour of 10:00 o' clock a.m. (cdst) . On motion made by Ross, seconded by Haworth and unanimously C9 carried, the Board adopted Improvement Resolution No. 939- 3 1950, for the improvement of Green Street, between Northwest ji "J" Street and Northwest "L" Street, by construction of a - -- concrete sidewalk and curb on the west side thereof, in ac- Y:4_ cordnace with profile, details, drawing and specifications submitted by the City Civil Engineer. Hearing date en said Improvement Resolution No. 939-1950 to be Friday, August 25, 1950, at the hour of 10:00 o° clock a.m. ( cast) . On motion made by Ross, seconded by Haworth and unanimously carried, the Board of Public Works and Safety approved the Present installation of the communication lines near the North "D" Street Grade Separation, be left in place until the rest. of the work is done on said Grade Separation is II completed, at which time the most suitable location will be considered. In view of the present bituetion., the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Comapny will be granted the necessary time to complete this part of the contract.
