The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said Cityt Friday, July, 14, 1950, at the hour of 8:00 o' clock A.M. .(C.S-.T. ) . Mr.. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Wm. Ed_tin Ross and Mr. Clifford M. Haworth. The Following proceedings were had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The proofs of publication for the receiving of coal bids for the various departments of the City were presented and ordered filed. The following sealed proposals for coal were received and open- ed: Klefoth-Voss Company: 300 tons 1l" Eastern Kentucky Nut & Slack @ $ 11. 24 ton. 144 " Pocahontas Egg. 1/214. 00 " 50 " " Mine Run , 12.50 " 13 " West Virginia Lump $11.88 " Analysis were furnished and $100.00 in cash accompanied bid. All the above bids were referred to the Civil Engineer for tabula- tions and recommendations. Mr. Einspanier, representaive of the Pennsylvania R.R. appeared before the Board to protest the Decker Dog Hospital of dumping refuse from said hospital onto the right-a-way of the G.R. & I. R.R. The City Attorney advised •Mr. Einspanier that this was a civil action between the Railroad and the Decker Dog Hospital. The, Board ac-cepted the resignation of Wyliec Wright from the Police Department effective July 16th, 1950. Mr. Wright having served continuously on the Police force since January 8, 1930. A petition signed by 118 residents in the area. of South llth and "A" Streets reequesting the installation of a traffic light Cqat said intersection was presented. The Engineering Department presented an estimate of cost of installation of traffic light at said in.tersec.tiom and the estimated costs will be approx. $999. 71. n On motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved the in- stallation of a traffic light at the intersection of South llth and "A" Streets. The Clerk was authorized to advertise for 22 tons of Calcium Chloride for the Street Department pending what information the Street Commissioner gets from some of the local dealers regard- ing storage space. The City Engineer to notify the C1erkv when to advertise,, The Board allowed the claims in the sum of $22, 104.65. There being no further business presented, on motion made, second- ed and carried the meeting adjourned. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Res. No. 9321 1950, for the construction of a concrete alley between So. 13th and So. 14th St. , from South "E" to South "F" Street. The Board unanimously adopted Imp. Res. No-. 935-1950,- for the con- struction of a concrete alley between S.W.- 10th & S.W. llth Sts, From S.W. A. to 1st alley north of a parallel with Nat' l Rd. - V Chairman Attest: Clerk the o . d.
