The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, July 7, 1950, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock. a.m. (cst) Mr, Clifford M. Haworth presiding as Chairman Pro-tem. The following member being presnt: Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross® The following proceedings were had, to--wit: The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved, A petition signed b proper g y �y owners on Northwest "A" Street, between Northwest 18th Street and Northwest 19th Street, requesting the con- struction of concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters was referred to »-Y the City Engineer Department for plans, specfications and estimates. A letter from Mr, Herschel Jefferies, requesting the opening of South 24th or 25th streets, south of Main Street to South 1Ev Street:: to be used as a by-pass for Highway #40. Mr. Jefferies owns land that might be effected and will be glad to c000perate in any man- ner that would be necessary for such a project. Mr. Ross stated that the rigt®away had been dedicated to the city and that a truck by-pass was under consideration. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $ 3, 736.42.
