OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
111 AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,
INDIANA, FRIDAY, JUNE 30, 1950.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall
in said City, Friday, June 30, 1950, at the hour of 8:80 o'clock
a.m. (cst) . Mr. Harold G. Coleman presiding with the following
member being present: Mr. Wm, Edwin Ross. Mr. C.M. Haworth being
absent. The following proceedings were had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the
previous meeting were dispensed with.
Mr. Burelison, Street Comm. , reported that the employees of the
Crosley Corp. were parking too close to fire plugs. This was
referred to the Police Dept. for investigation and correction.
Mr. Ross reported that two coping stones were taken off the
roof of the Earlham Pumping Station which is the Lift Station
for Sewage Disposal. Windows also had been broken out of the
Guaging Station, south of Test Road, This matter was referred
to the Police Dept.
Mr. Ralph Snavely, Weights and Measures Inspector, presented
a yearly state report covering the period of July 1, 1949 to
July 1, 1950.
Mr. Ross moved that the Clerk of the Board be authorized to
notify the Richmond Water Works Corp. to discontinue their
service to houses along the C. & 0. R.R, , north of of North
"D" Street. This motion was duly seconded and carried.
The Board confirmed the action of the Engineer relative to
closing of North 3rd Street from the south end of the C.& 0.
Station to North "D" Street, and North "D" Street from North
4th Street to the bridge.
The City Engineer was authorized to contact the City Bus Co.
and request that the situation of busses pulling away from
8th and Main Street be corrected. This practise is causing too
much of traffic trouble at said intersection.
The met at the hour of 9:00 o' clock a.m. (cst) , pursuant to
advertisement in the Richmond Pallidium newspaper to hear all
interested persons on Declaratory Resolution No. 2,-1950. The
Board heard all persons present who desired to express them_
selves on said Res. On motion duly made, seconded and carried
the Board confirmed Declaratory Res. 2-1950.
The City Engineer was authorized to get estimates from three
plumbers, if possible, for changing the water connections
along the south side of North "D" Street, from the present
house connections to the new water-line connnections, in view
of the fact that the Water Works will not enter onto private
property.

The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $22, 186. 87.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried the meeting adjourn-
ed.
