NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. That the proposal from T &M Associates for professional General Engineering Services for the Arthur Kill Ferry Service at a total cost not to exceed $8,500.00, billable in accordance with T &M's existing contract with the Borough, is hereby approved. 2. That annexed hereto is a copy of said proposal. 3. That this action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11 5(1)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and Open Process as authorized by law. 4. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and T &M Associates. Adopted this 4 day of May, 2017 and certified as a true copy of the original on May 5, 2017. Reiman Borough of Carteret 61 Cooke Avenue Carteret, New Jersey 07008 Re: General Engineering Services Arthur Kill Ferry Service Dear Mayor Reiman: April 21, 2017 In accordance with our recent discussions regarding the referenced project, we are providing herein a scope of services and fee estimate to provide ongoing general engineering services related to the Borough's Ferry Service project. Over the past several months we have provided general engineering and environmental scientist services to the Borough and its Ferry Team and have met with NJDOT and NJPTA officials to move the NJDOT Local Project Delivery Process forward. Further, we have attended meetings with these agencies relative to NJDOT requirements for the project and the requested Feasibility Study, Economic Analysis, and Intermodal Alternatives Analysis and Public Meeting. We have also participated in meetings with ferry service operators and provided a variety of general support to new team members William Wolf, Esq and Dr. Rachel Weinberger. As requested, we are prepared to continue to provide the following engineering services for the ferry project and continue to work with your office and the Borough's project legal counsel and transportation planning consultant to meet and consult with NJDOT officials to advance the ferry proj ect. Scope of Services In order to cover costs associated with our services and to continue to provide the anticipated above outlined technical consultation and engineering support services over the next few months, we propose a not to exceed fee of $8,500. Our services will be provided on an as needed basis and will be billed on an hourly rate in accordance with our current annual services contract. YOUR GOALS. OUR MISSION .
