HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-23-1950 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, JUNE 23, 1950. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Ind- iana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in .said City, Friday, June 23, 1950, at the hour of 8:00 & clock A.M. (cst) . Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being pres- ent: Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross and Mr. C.M. Haworth. The following pro- ceedings were had, to-wit: On motion made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The. Clerk was ordered to write and advise Mr. Delbert Miller, own- er of the property on the southeast corner of East 13th and Main Streets, to cut the weeds and clean the sidewalks of the dirt that had washed down the banks. The Board approved the recommendation of the City Engineer of clos- ing North Lth at "D" Street and North Third Street at "C" Street during the building of the new bridge. - The Richmond Telephone Company inquired to the possibilities of installing a 4 way duct back (West) west side walk on N.W. 5th St. from Peacock Road north. The street line 3" west of west edge of walk is clear except for stone wall just north of Peacock Road. At this place the Phone Company will go under sidewalk. The Phone Company will satisfy property owners by restoring lawns which run to walk. There will be possibly manholes in sidewalk. The purpose of this is avoid cutting into the street with atrendants costs and difficulty of construction. The City Engineer recommended that the plans and specifications be filed in the office of the City Engineer before action is taken by this Board. The Board unanimously approved the recommendation. The Board approved the removal of two trees on N.W. "A" Street, near Easthaven Avenue. The City to do the work of removal. There will be sidewalks, curbs and gutters built by property owners a- long said N.W. "A" Street. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $28, 967.69.
