• The Board of Public Works and Safety of. the City of Richmond,-
Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall
- in said- City, Friday, Jenne 9, 1950, at the hour of 8:00 o' clock
a.m. Cost) . Mr. HaNrold G. Coleman presiding with the following
members being present: Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross and Mr. Clifford M.
Haworth.. The following prodeedings were had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the
previous meeting were dispensed with.
'� The Board approved the Optimist Club request to use North "E" -
Street, from the intersection of the Glen Miller Park to North
"- 20th Street, and also the following side streets be blocked
1 50 feet north and south of North "E" Street, 21st, 22nd, 23rd
,c and 24th Streets, on the 23rd day of July, 1950, for the Sec-
and Annual Op ti-Derby. .
The Board approved the request of the "Y" teen-agers of it
spon-
sering a dance on' North "A" Street, Wednesday, June 14, 1950.

. - The Board approved the installation of parking meters on the
west scde of North 9th Street, from North "A" Street to North ,
"B" 'Street as requested by the owner of. the Morton Center
Building and the Young Women' s Christian Association.
Pursuant to advertisement in the Richmond Pallidium, newspaper
the Board met to open and consider the sealed proposa-is for
a new truck for the Street Department of the City. The follow-
ing proposa7;s were received and opened:

All proposals were accompanied- with a certified check in the sum of
One Hundred ($100. 00) Dollars.
The Board- reffered. the above proposals to the City Civil Engineer and
the Street Commissioner to tabulated and report their recommendations
to this Board.
The Board approved the purchase of land on the Henly Road south
IIIfor a Sub-Station for the Light Plant, which has been heretofore
been approved by the Council serving as a committee in charge of
the operation of the Light Plant.
The Board concurred in the Resolution adopted by the State Highway
Commissithn of Indiana for NO PARKING AT ANY TIME on the north side
of Main Street (U. S.#40) between West First Street and West Second
Street.
A letter from the Earih.am Cemetery Association complimenting the.
police department on the fine job of directing traffic at the
two entrances to Earlham Cemetery on Memorial Day was received and
C': ordered filed.
Councilman Myers compliant of the fire hose across the yards of
residence near the North 19th Street Dump was referred to the
Fire Chief to investigate.
Councilman Marino' s complaints of overcrowded buses at the Crosley
Plant were reported to the Indiana Railroad. The condition of North
llth Street, north. of "J" Street was referred to the Street Dept.
-The speeding of traffic on North 12th Street was referred to the
Police Dept. The Board took under advisement the widening of the
iron bridge on Bridge Avenue and also the removing of the covered.

111 The Board approved the trees along Laurel Street of being trimmed
and also "No Parking" along Laurel Street and also West• 1st Street
during the construction of the New Bridge-:

The Board accepted the following from the Jos. H. Hill Company:
DEDICATION FOR STREET PURPOSES
THIS IDENTURE WITNESSETH, That Joseph H. Hill Comapny, a corpor-
ation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Ind-
iana, with its principal office at the City of Richmond, Indiana,
does hereby dedicate and grant the City of Richmond, of Wayne
County, State of Indiana, for the purpose of widening Peacock
Road and Northwest Thirteenth Street, for public use, the following
described lands in the southwest quarter of Section thirty-one
(31) , Township fourteen (14) north, Range one (1) west, in tt.e
said City of Richmond, to-wit:
Beginning at a point in the center line of Peacock Road, which is
the south line of the nottri half of said quarter section, eight
hundred forty-three and fifteen hundredths (843. 15) feet east of
the west line of said section and running thence east, along the
center line of Peacock Road eight hundred fifty-three and thirty-
eight hundredths (853. 38) feet, more or less, to he west line
of Northwest 13th Street, north of Peacock Road, extended south;
thence north, along the west line of Northwest 13th Street,
thirty (30) feet; thence west, parallel with the center line of
Peacock Road,t eight hundred fifty-three and thirty-eight hundred-
ths (853, 38 ) feet, more or less, to a point eight hundred forty-
three and fifthen hundredths (843. 15 feet east of the west line
of said section; thence south thirty (30) feet to the place of
beginning.

1947, as recorded in County Deed Record 219, page 322 .
