AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI
PERTAINING TO MAXIMUM FINES .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 1 (General Provisions), Sec. 1-13 (General penalty;
continuing violations), Subparagraph A, of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri , is
amended as follows :
Sec. 1-13. General penalty; continuing violations.
A. Except as here inafter provided, whenever in thi s Code or in any other ord in ance of the city or in a ny rule,
regulati on or order promulgated purs uant to s uc h Code or other ordinance of the city, any act is prohibited
or is made or declared to be unla wfu l or an offense o r a misdemeanor, or whenever in such Code or in such
other city o rdinance, rule, regulation o r order th e doing of a ny act is required or th e fa ilure to do a ny act is
declared to be unlawful, where no specifi c penalty is provided ther efo r, the violation of any s uch provision
of this Code or of any othe r ordinance of th e c ity or of any rule, regulation or o rd er promulgated pursuant
to such Code or other c ity ordinance sha ll be puni s hed by a fine not exceedin g five hundred o ne thousand
dollars ($500.00 $1,000.00), or by impri so nme nt for a period of not exceeding three (3) months, or by both
such fine and imprisonment.
Section £. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.
