HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-28-1950 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, APRIL 28, 1950. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, April 28, 1950, at 9:00 A.M. Mr. Clifford N. Haworth presiding as Chairman Pro-tem with the following member being present: Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross. Mr. Harold G. Coleman being absent. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: On motion made, seconded and carried the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The Board did not approve the request of Marie I. Connerton and Helen E. Connerton to mark the curb yellow in front of #122-124 South 8th Street and the closing of the alley between South A and B Streets to one way traffic only. On recommendation of the Chief of Police, the Board approved the appiontments of the following men as probationary patrolmen as of May 1, 1950; Robert Eugene Smith and Elwood Clark, Jr. The Board approved the following curb cuts: 204 North 8th Street and 811 Sheridian Street. A petition to vacate the alley abutting lots Nos. 26, 27,28 and 29 in the I.E. Jones Addition and Official Map Tracks Nos. 117 118 and 119 as requested by Mr. E.H. Brinker was referred to the City Civil Engineer to prepare a resolution for the con- sideration of the Board. The Board approved the installation of a two (2) post type traffic lights at the intersection of North 6th & A Streets. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Board will meet at the hour of 8:00 oRclock A.M. (CST) during the period of April 29, 1950 to September 24, 1950. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $2, 721. 62. There being no further business presented, oin motion made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
