HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-21-1950 457 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 1950 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall, Friday, April 21, 1950, at 9:00 orclock A.M. Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. WM. Edwin Ross and Mr. Clifford M. Haworth. The following pro- ceedings were had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meet- ing were dispensed with. - The Street Commissioner reported that there was a gang working on the repair of the sidewalks. The work had stnuted on the north side of Main Street at 16th Street. Both sides of Main Street will be finished first and then outlying territory will be taken in. The board approved the preparation of an Ordinance to transfer the sum of $750.00 from the Council Contingency Fund to the City Court, Special Judges to be presented to Council for their consideration. On recoomendation of the Fire Chief, the Board approved the installation of a Fire Hydrant approx. 350 feet north of Main Stree.t on N.W. 13th Street. A petition signed by 22 residents requesting the installation of a street light on Peacock Road, between Northwest 17th Street and Easthaven Avenue was referred to the M.E. L.& P.P. Light Plant Committee for their recommend- ation. • The Board allowed claims in the amount of $ 17,E+53.g0.
