OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY,
APRIL 14, 1950
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, -Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in. said City,
Friday, April 14, 1950, at 9:00 o' clock a.m. Mr. H. G. Coleman presiding
with the following members being present: Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross and Mr.
Clifford M. Haworth. The Following proceedings were had, to- wit:
On morion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
On recommendation of the Chief of Police, the Board approved the "No
Parking" on the west side of North Third Street, from Main Street to
the first alley north , while trucks were unoading for Swayne Robinson
Foundry.
Dr. Decker appeared before the Board and presented a claim in the amount
of : 32.00 for laboratory fees that were 'heeded to take care of a stray
dog that had biten a person and was held for rabies, The Board took .
this claim under advisement as no funds were appropriated in the budget
to take care of said claim.
On recommendation of the Fire Chief, the Board approved the request
of prohibiting parking in front of Birbks, Sargents, Hoosier Store and
Moores on Main Street on Saturday April 29th. These parking spaces
will be taken by cars that have crippled children in them that want
to witness the Bycycle Parade that precedes the Bycycle Rodeo held on
said date.
The Board authorized the City Engineer to purchase 100 "Stop Signs"
and install the same immediately.
The Board authorized the traffic lightr_at the intersection of Sheridan
Street and Doran Bridge to be removed and be installed at the intersection
of South 8th and "L" Streets; the removal of the traffic sign at the
intersection of North 5th and "D" Streets and be installed at the inter-
section of North 15th and "F" Streets.
The Clerk was instructed to write the State Highway Commission for
permission to cross National Road We st near the intersection of West
14th Street with the underground cable to supply the current to the
"Flasher Signal" that is to be installed at said point.
The Board was advised that the Weights and Neasres Inspector was
going to attend a Convention in South Bend, April 20th to 22nd.
The Board allowed claims in the amount of $ 3P.,0 3.1 , 0 g
There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
