HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-10-1950 457 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY FEBRUARY 10, 1950. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in reg- ular session in its office in the City Hall in-said City, Friday, February 10, 1950. Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross and Mr. Clifoord M. Haworth. The following ptoceeeings were had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Mr. Yost, a resident of the Morton Lake Add., appeared before the Board and complained ofi the recent high waters being in his and others basements in said area. This con- dition is caused by the old Morton Lake Dam backing up the water when heavy rains fall. This was referred to Mr. Boss to investigate and see what relief can be done. The complaints of Councilman Marino of the need of a "stop sign" at the intersection of Northwest N and Boyer Street and the condition of the sidewalk on North F Street, between North 12th and 13th Streets was referred to the Police and Street Depts. The Street Commissioner reported that the swinging brid e in Happy Hollow had been removed as ordered by this Board. A letter was received and read to the Board from the Cambridge City, Indiana Tiwn Board and the Fire Dept. This letter thanked the Richmond Fire Dept. for the fine aid that was given by said Fire Dept. at the fire in Cambridge City, Sunday, Feb- ruary 5th, 1950. The Board approved the request of the Fire Chief of taking some of the members of the Fire Dept. to Indianapolis, Indiana, February 14th, 15th and 16th, to attend • a training school. The Board allowed claims in the sum of $28,1)+8-.S1/ The Board approved the Clerk of preparing the proper advertising to receive sealed proposals for a new truck for the Street Department. Proposals to be received Friday, March 3rd, 1950, at 10:00 A.M. There being no further business, on proper motion, seconded and carried unan- imously, the meeting adjourned. Chairman Attest E _ lerk.
