OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 6,1950.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of- Richmond, Indiana, met in reg-
ular session in its-office in the City Hall in said City, Friday,- January 6, 1950,
at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being
present: Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross and Mr. Clifford M. Haworth, The following.busines
was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
The following letter was presented and read:
January 6, 1950
Mr. Harold G. Coleman, Chairman
Board of Works.
Gentlemen: -
I wish to prefer charges of conduct unbecoming to and officer against
Officer Alger Acton. This action is the result of Acton admitting to me of being
intoxicated while off duty in a public plate on December 30,-1949.
I recommend to this Board of the suspension of Officer Acton from
January 1, to January 31st, 1950 without pay and both dates inclusive.

Mr. Haworth moved that the recommendation of the Chief of Police be aceepted by
the Board, seconded by Mr. Ross and on voice vote the motion was unanimoulsy
carried;
There being no futher business, on motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously
the meeting adjourned.
