HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-16-1949 4-i3 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16, 1949. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, December 16, 1949, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Mr. H.G. Colman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. W.E. Ross and Mr. C.M. Haworth. The following pro- ceedings were had, to-wit: On motion duly made,seconded and carried unanimously the minutes of the pre- vious meeting were dispensed with. Mr. H.O. Nicho��l•��s•o-_-i.* representing a group of singers from the North 10th Street Friends Church,"^for permission to use a loud speaker on a truck while this group gang Christmas Carols in the city. The Board denied the permission to use a loud speaker, but granted permission to the group to sing. The Board approved the installation of "No Parking" signs on North side of North 0 Street, from North 15th to North 16th Street. The Board granted temporary permission to the Crabtree-Maule Corporation to proceed with the pleminary work of plans and specifications for the construct- ion of an elevated conveyor bridge across North lath Street, north of the Penna. R.R. right of way and connecting the properties on the east and west sides of the street, botix which are owned by the Dille & McQuire Co. The Crabtree-Maule Corp. to present their plans and specifications to the City Engineer for study and his recommendations to the Board, before final approval by the Board. On motion duly made.seconded and carried unanimously, the Board confirmed De- claratory Resolution No. 3-1949. On motion by Mr. Ross, seconded by Mr. Haworth and carried unanimoulsy, the Board awarded the contract to the Brookville Drainage and Tile Co., to con- struct the "Sanitary Sewer2 in the Maxwell Addition, as providee for in Imp. Res. #934-194+9. The bid being in the amount of $7.S42.50/ On motion made by Mr. Haworth, seconded by Mr. Rodg and carried unanimously, the proofs of publication on Declaratory Resoltuion #5-1949 were ordered filed. Pursuant to advertisement in the Richmond Pallidium newespaper, the Board met at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.M. to consider all remonstranees that were filed, on Declaratory Resolution #5-1949. No remonstrances were filed or presented. Mr. Haworth moved that Declaratory Resolution #5-1949 be confirmed, seconded by Mr. Ross and on voice vote, the motion was unanimously carried. The Board allowed claims in the amount of The Park Board concurred in the recommendation of the Board to reopen an alley through David Park on North Third Street. The Board unanimoulsy adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 6-1949, to extend and open the first alley south of and parallel to N. "D" St, from the first alley west of an parallel to N 4+th St. to 3rd Street. The Clerk to prepare the pub- lication for a public hearing on Jan. 13, 1950, at 10:00 A.M.
