HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-09-1949 411 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9, 1949. The Board of Public Works and Safety of- the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall, Friday, December 9, 1949, at 9:00 o'clock, A.M. , Mr. H. G. Coleman presiding, with the following member being present: Mr. C. M. Haworth. The following proceedings were had,. to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously the minutes of the pre- vious mII/ eeting were dispensed with. The Board unanimously approved the request of the Fire Chief of extending the fire alarm circuits to include boxes at the Belden Mf. Co., Crosley Corp. , Aluminum Seal Co. , and the Perfect Circle. This work to be done next year. The Street Commissioner reported that the sidewalk along the West 7th Street Park had been repaired. The complaint of Councilman Marino, of the trailer trucks of the Eavey Co., parking on North Tenth Street was referred to the Police Dept. The request of constructing a pedestrian walkway along the iron Bridge in "Happy Hollow" was referred to the City Engineering Dept. for recommendations. The request of a study be made to eliminate the traffic hazard at the inter- section of South gth and "L" Streets was referred to the Police Dept. The Board approved the Clerk of preparing the proper advertisement to receive bids for the rental of the Market House for the year 1950. The bids to be received Friday, December 23d, 1949, at 10:00 o'clock A.M. The Clerk of the Board presented proofs of publication of the notice to receive sealed proposals Friday, December 9, 1949, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.M. , for the construction of the Maxwell Addition Sewer as pro- vided for in Improvemebt Resolution No. 934-1949. On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously the proofs of publication were ordered filed. Pursuant to advertisement, the Board met at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.M. , to open and consider sealed proposals for the construction of a "Sanitary Sewer" in the Maxwell Addition, as provided for in Improvement Resolution No. 934-1949. The following sealed proposals were received and opened: BROOKVILLE DRAINAGE AND TILE CO. 975 lin. ft. 10 inch sewer complete with "Ys" © $3.50 per ft. $ 3,802.50 880 " " 8 " " " " " ® $3.00 " " $ 2,640.00 Manholes complete ($175.00 $ 1,400.00 Totals $ 7,842.50 MIKE DELUCIO AND SON: 975 ft. of 10 inch sewer $ 4,387.50 880 " " g " " $ 3,300.00 8 Manholes $1,330.50 Totals $ 9,018.00 412 All the above bids were accompanied with the proper bonds and were referred to the City Engineer for study and recommendation to the Board. The Board unanimously approved the continuing of the hearing on Declaratory Res. #3-194+9 until Friday, December 16, 1949. The Board allowed claims in the amount of $28,703.50.
