The Board of.Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, •Indiana, met in regular
session in its office in the CitycBuilding,.in said City, Friday; October 28, 1949, at
9:00 o'clock .A.M. Mr. H.G. Coleman predicting with the' f ollowing members being present:
Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross and Mr. Cliiferd M. Haworth: The following proceedings were -had,
to-wit:

On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimoully, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
On recommendation of the Police Dept. , the Board approved the City erecting bycycle
racks' in front of the theatres.

On recommendation of the Park Supt., the- Board approved the following trees to be
cut: 1025 South 5th Street.

The Board approved a curb cut at 1900 South E Street.
On recommendation og the Engineering Dept. , 'the Bard approved the Niewohner-
Nickles, Inc. bid for the installation of the new boiler in.the City Hall in the
amount of $5,720.40, including the vacuumLpump. The Clerk was authorized to return
the certified check that accompanied The alley Electric Company's bid.
. Pursuant to adbertisement in the Richmond Pallidium .newspaper, the Board met at the
hour of 10:00 o'clock A.M. to receive and open sealed proposals for the construction
of a concrete alley between par. 3rd and S.W. 4th Streets -from the first alley south
of a parallel with West Main Street to National Road as provided- for in Improvement
Resolution No. 933-1949. Proofs of publications were presented and ordered filed on
said resolution. Two bids were received and opened as.follows.: •

DeBolt Concrete Co. , $5,572.00
The above bids were taken under advisement by the Board. .
Pursuant to advertisement in the Richmond Pallidium newspaper, the Board met at the
hour of 10:00 A.M. to hear-and consider-any remonstrance that had been filed or pre-
sented against Imp. Res. No. 934-1949, for the construction of. a "sanitary sewer°
in the Mawell Add.The proofs of publications were presented. and ordered filed. The
Board heard all taxpayers present who were affected and b enifited bybsaid resolution.
fihe Board now finds the special benifiti accuring to said abutting properties are
equal to the estimated cost of the said improvement.: On motion duly made, seconded
and carried unanimously, the Board confirmed Imp. Res. No. 934-1949. The Clerk to
prepare the advertising to receive bids to do said work, Friday, November 18, 1949,
at 10:00 A.M. - -
The Board allowed claims in the amount of $68796.43• •
On motion. duly made, secinded and carried unaimously, the meeting adjourned.
