The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Building in said City, Friday, October 14, 1949, 9:00 o'clock A.M. Mr. H. G. Coleman presiding With the following members being- present: Mr. W.E. Ross and-Mr. .Clifford M. Haworth. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. On recommendation of the Fire Chief, the Board approved the advancement of William Kenney from probationary fireman to that of regular fireman as of October 16, 1949. On recomendation of the Chief offPolice, the Board approved the installation of "No .Parking" signs on the south side of North "D" Street, from North 15th to North 16th Street; On the north side of North "0" Street, from Fort Wayne Avenue to North 7th Street. The Street Commissioner to install said signs immediately.. _ On recommendation of the Park Supt. , the Board approved the following tree cuts: 305 South.9th Street, 4+09 North 15th Street, North 16th and A Streets. The Clerk was authorized to write and request Mr. Garfield Dixon, 212 South 12th Streq,to remove a dead tree in front of said address. A petition signed by 11 property owners, requesting the construction of a "sanitary sewer" in that portion of the City of Richmond, bounded on the east by the G.R.& I. branch of the Penna. R.R. , on the south by N.W. "J" Street, on the west by N.W. 5th Street and on the north by N.W. "L11 Street. The Board approved that said petition be referred to the Engineering Department to prepare plans, specifications and estimates for said work to be done, in form of a resolution. The Board unanimously confirmed Improvement Resolution #933-194+9. The Clerk to prepare the advertisement to receive bids on said resolution, Friday, October 28, 1949, at 10:00 A.M. _ The Board authorized the Clerk jo write Mrs. M. Mercurio, 21)4 South 6th Street, in regards to cleaning up the dirt and mud in front of the residence on North 16th and E Streets. The Board unanimously confirmed Declaratory Resolution #2-1949 on second hearing The Clerk to have said resolution recorded at the Wayne County Recorder's office..
