The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular ' session in its office in the City Building in said City, Friday, October 7, 1949, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross and Mr. Clifford M. Haworth. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: Ir On motion duly made;. seconded and carried unanimously, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. . . . . On recommendation of the Park Supt. , the Board approved the trees to be cut at . 112 North 15th Street, 513 South 10th Street and North 6th Street, between Main and North A Street on the east side of North Sixth Street. Councilman Law requested that some attention be given in the cutting of an accum- alation of undergrowth on Northwest 6th Street between Main and Pearl Street. The Chief of Police reccomended that the Indiana State Highway Commission be not- ified again of the need of traffic lights at the intersectio4 -of South 5th and South E Street and South 5th and G Street. The following curbscuts were approved: North llth and Elm Street, North 5th and A Street, 1237 Ridge Street, 901 Peacock Road, South 5th and H Street and 333 South 15th Street. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution 0934-1949, to improve by construction of a "Sanitary Sewer" in the Maxwell Addition, bounded on the, North by S.W. "E" Street, on the south by S.W. "G" Street, on the west by Abington Pike and on the east by S.W. 1st Street. The public hearing on said resolution to be held, Friday, October 2C, 1949, at 10:00 o'clock A.M. - The Board. approved the City Engineering Department to proceed with the proper steps in preparing a resolution to open a street on South 16th Street, from South "L" to South "H" Streets. The speeding of traffic on Northwest "I," Street and the Williamsburg Pike, as reported by Councilman Baldwin was referred to the Police Dept. for investigation. The parking of cars on one side of North D Street, from North 15th to North 16th Street, as repotted by Councilman Harris was referred. to the Police Dept. for investigation. The Board approved the Clerk of. preparing advertising for receiving bids on the new boiler in the City Building. The Board unanimously confirmed Imp. Res. i 932-1949 on second hearing.
