OFFICE OF TiF, BOARD OP PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHNMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, SI±c'TEMBER 9, 1949.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in reg=
ular. session in its office in the City building in said City, Friday, September
9, 1949, at g:00 o'clock A.M. (c.s.t.). Mr. HarQld_ G. Coleman pres.ding with the
following member being present: Mr. C.M. Haworth. The following, proceedings were
had, to-wit:
On motion duly made,seconded and carried unanimously,. the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
Mr. John Griffin, 1613 South 4+th Streets appeared before the Board and complained
of the water condition in the area of the south end below the Natco. The present
condition is becoming a :health menace. Mr. Griffin.recommended a solution of the
property owners going together and tapping into the nearest sanitary sewer. Phis
was referred to Mr. Dueker to investigate and report to the Board.
On recommendation of the Park Supt. , ,the Board approved the removal of trees from
75 South 17th St. and 105 South 3rd Street.
The Board unanimously confirmed Improvement Res. #924_ 1949 on secend hearing.
On recommendation of the City Engineer, the Board unanimously approved the in-
stallation of the two post traffic lights at the int rsection of North 12th and
A Streets. The Clerk to notify the Light Plant of this action.
The Board capproved the removal of a tree on the S.W. corner of North 12th and .
A Streets, because said treet,i:ssdirectly over the catch basin.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution #933-1949, to imp1ove the
alley between Southwest 3rd Street and Southwest 4+th Street, from National Road
to first alley south of and parallel with West Main Street, by constructiom of
a concrete roadway the full width of said alley. Piblic hearing to be held Friday
September 30th, 19)+9_ at iOa00 A.M.The Board allowed claims in the amount of $ g'5j b// 2-9. E1
