OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 1949, - -
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond; Indiana, metbin regular
session in its office in the City Building in said City, Friday, September 2, 1949; at
8:00 o'clock A.M. (c,s.t.). Mr. H.G. Coleman-presiding with following members being
present: Mr Wm. 'E. Ross and Mr, C.M. Haworth. The following proceedings were had, to-wit:
On motion duly made , secondee and carried unanimously, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
. The Board authorized the S . Comm. to paint the curb on the east side of So. 7th St.,
from So E Street, south three car lenghts. This was requested by the St. John's church.
On recommendation of the Mayor, the Board approved the installation of "flasher lights°
near the intersection of Northwest 5th and Peacock Road.
The Board gave unanimous consent to the sending of a letter to Mr. limos Coffey, requesting
that he discontinue the use of Lot #14, Hawkins Spring Add. for a 2junk yard".
On recoomendation of the Park Supt, the Board approved the removal of a dead tree in
front of 329 Pearl Street.
The Board unanimously approved the installation of a traffic light at the intersection
of North 12th and A Streets. The City Engineer to make recommendations as to what
type to be installed. -
The Board authorized the treatment of South gth Street, from South 0 Street to South P
Streets with regular road material.
The Bard approved the request of the Fire Chief. , of having the curb and lines in
fronts of #2 Hose House repain ted.
The Board requested the Fire Chief to contact the Water Works and have them removed and
relocate the fire hydrant in front of the Senior High School.
The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution 42-1949, to vacate that portion
of Indiana Avenue, formerly known as "Asylum Ave, from =Northwest 5th Street to Northwest
4th Street. Public hearing to be on said. Res. , Friday, September 30, 1949.
The Board allowed claims in the sum of $ ate, :; `i, l' a .
On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously, the meeting adjourned.
