HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-29-1949 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC ,WORT1S AND SAFETY OF 38/ THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, JULY 29,1949. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indinana, met in regular session in its office in the City Building in said City, Friday, July 29, 1949, at Ss00 o'clock. A.M. (C.S.T. ). Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Wm. Edwin Ross and Mr. Clifford M. Haworth. The following pro- ceedings were had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimosl*, the minutes of the previous ' meeting were dispensed with. . Mr. W.E. Berney and Mr. C. Zwissler, Earlham Cemetery Officials, appeared before the Board requesting permission to tap drain sewers into the Sanitary Sewer. This re- quest was talon under advisement by the City Attorney and City Engineer. On recommendation of Mr. Ridgeway, the Board did not grant permission to the property owner at 812 Peacock Road to remove an Elm tree in front of said property. On recommendation of the Chief of Police, the Board approved the following parking regulations on Northwest "G" & "H" Streets, No parking onrthe north side of said streets, from Sheridian Street to Boyer Street. The Street Commissioner to erect the proper signs. Fire Chief, Williams complained of trucks earring high explosives over the streets in the City. This in the opionion of the Chief is very dangerous practise. This was re- ferred to the City Attorney to investigate the State Laws on such practise. Mr. Haworth brought to the attention of the Board, the immediate heed of marking all prefeneritial streets in the City. The Board approved the request to cut a curb at North 3rd and Main Streets, as requested by E.H. Gilcrest, Inc. • The Board granted permission to the North Richmond Recreational Council the privilege to use a loud speaker during the period that said Council is sponsering a carnival at -, the Shinkle Park. Said speaker to be used only in a low volume. The Board unanimously approved the School City of Richmond, of thoroughly cleaning out the underpass on Whitowater Blvd and closing the same at both ends. On recommendation of the Mayor, the Board approved the "Disabled Vets" of holding July 29th. & 30th for "Forget-Me-Not" days. / /� (; The Board allowed claims in the amount of $ I�i gab. g0 On motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously, the meeting adjourned.
