The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond.;Indiana,met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,Friday April 22, 1949 at 9:00 A.M. elclock: Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr: W.E. Ross and C.M. Haworth. The following pro- ceedings were had, to-wito The minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The Board unanimously approved that the clocks of the O tym:Hall would continue on Central Statndard Time and the operating hours of the- office's would, be on Daylight Savings Time. The Board authorized the Police Dept. to install parking meters in areas that are no longer considered restricted areas, Fire Chief,Williams reported that he had made the following changes of the routing of fire equipment when calls are received from the Reid Hospital: - Hose house #1,#2 and #5 will answer all alarms from the hospital on the lst alarm, and #4 Hose house will go to the Central Station to replace- 41 during the let alarm. A letter was -received and' ordered filed from the Reid Hospital thanking the Fire Dept: for the efficient manner in which the recent fire was handled and the loss kept to a minimum. The Board authorized the Clerk to write the State Highway Comm. and request that the curb in front of the Friends Post Office be painted yellow from the corner of West Fifth eats three car lengths. - The curb cut at requested by Mr. Rhoades and Mr. Swisher was taken under advis- ement. A petition to construct a sanitary sewer for facilities of properties a butting streets of South 12th, South 13th, South °I° Street and South "J" Street was referred to the Engineering Dept. for specifications. Mr. Ralph Snavely advised the Board that he was going to attend the Weights and Measures Convention at Indianapolis, Indiana April 25th to April 28th,19l49. Mr. Haworth moved that the following Resolution be adopted, seconded by Mr. Ross and on voice vote the Resolution was adopted and so ordered. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Common Council of the Citynof Richmond, Indiana, did, on Nbvember 15, 1948, passsOrdinance #1364-1948, creating a sanitary district- in said City; and - • • WHEREAS, said City now has a duly qualified and Organized Board of Sanitary Commissioners; and WHEREAS, said Board of Sanitary Commissioners has heretofore demand- ed that the Board of vPublic . To1kk and Safety of the said City relinquish and 317 transfer control of all real estate belonging to said City now under con- trol of said Board of Public Works and Safety suitable for use by said Sanitary District, including the present disposal plant now situated in said Sanitary District, and all personal prpoerty and equipment used by said Board of Public Works and Safety in connection with said disposal plant, and for the collection and removal of garbage and sewage; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that it relinquish control of, and that the control of, the following descrbed real estate and personal property, be, and the same is hereby transferred to the Board of Sanitary Commissioners of the City of Richmond,Indiana: 1. "Parts of the-Northwest and Southwest quarters of Section eight (S), Township thirteen (13) north, Range one (1) west, and part of the southwest quarter of Section Seven (7), Township thirteen (13).north, Range one (1) west, in the City of Richmond, County of Wayne, State of Indiana, bounded as follows: "Beginning at the northwest corner of the southwest quarter of said Section eight 08); thence east on the north line of southwest quarter of said Section eight (g), two hundred twenty three and eight hundredths (223.Og) feet; thence north thirty-seven and sixety-two hmn- dredths (37.62) feet; thence south eighty-nine degrees (80 east three hundred five (305) feet; thence south thirty-four degrees (34+) and three minutes (3' ) west four hundred ten (410) feet; thence south forty de- grees (40) west six hundred twenty-eight (62S) feet; thence south twentk- one degrees (21) thirty minutes (30' ) west six hundred eighteen (61g) feet; thence east one hundred twenty-two (122) feet; thence south two hundred thirteen (213) feet to a point in the north line of land now or formerly owned by the German Evangelical Lutheran Graveyard Association, two hundred (200) feet west of the east line of the southeast quarter of said Section seven (7); thence east along line of land formerly owned by the German Evangelical Lutheran Graveyard Association, two hundred (200) feet to the east line of Section seven (7); thence south on the east -line of said Section seven (7) one thousand ninety-one (1,091) feet to the southeast corner of said Section seven (7); thence west on the south line of Section seven (7) nine hundred eighty-two and seventy four hundredths (982.74) feet to the southeast corner of land now or formerly owned by Emmett Crowe; thence north fifteen (15) degrees west along the east line of said Emmett Crowe's land eight hundred ten (810) feet; thence north six degrees (6) east six hundred seventy (670) feet; thence north fifty-nine degrees (59) east five hundred ninety-six (596) feet to the west corner of land formerly owned by Frederica Backmeyer; thence north forty-one degrees (41) and thirty minutes (30) east, along the westerly line of land formerly owned by said Frederica Backmeyer nine hundred twenty-four (924) feet to the east line of said Section seven (7); thence north along the east line of said Section Seven (7) two hundred six and twenty-five hundredths (206.25) feet to the place of beginning, containing an area of forty-eight and sixty-two hundredths $4g162) acres, more or less; and appurtenances thereto." 2. ALSO, part of the southeast quarter od Section six (6), Township thirteen (13) north, Range one (1) west, in the County of Wayne, State of Ihdiana, bounded as follows; 348 °Beginning on the west line of the land owned by Earlham College at the. south line of the right-away of the Evansville and Richmond Railroad; running thence south two hundred seventy-five (275) feet; thence east one hundred fifty (150) feet; thence north thirty-seven degrees (37) thirty min- utes (301 ) east three hundred fifty (350) feet to the south line of right- of-way of the said Evansville and Richmond Railroad.; thence west along said south line of the right-of-way of the Evansville and Richmond Railroad, three hundred sixty-nine (369) feet to the place of beginning, containing one and sixty-four hundredths (1.64+) acres, more or less, appurtenances thereto. "ALSO the following described real estate in the said quarter Sect- ion, beginning at a poi4t on the line dividing the land owned by the said Earlham College from the land owned by Earlham Cemetery, distant one hundre thirty (130) feet south from the south line of the right-of-way of the Evansville and Richmond Railroad; running thence south two hundred ninety (290) feet; thence west one hundred fifty (150) feet; thence north two hun- dred ninety (290) feet; thence east one hundred fifty (150) feet to the place of beginning, containing one (1) acre, more or less; and appurtenance thereto. 3. The follooing personal property and equipment used by said. Board of Public Works and Safety in connection with said disposal plant, and for the collection and removal of garbage and ashes: (as described in schedule attached hereto and made a part hereof).
